On October 9th 2022, IMAGINE PEACE TOWER will be relit in Reykjavík, Iceland, in memory of my late husband John Lennon, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday.

I hope you will join us in celebrating the relighting of Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland, on this website and around the world. Remember, each one of us has the power to change the world.

Power works in mysterious ways. We don’t have to do much. Visualize the domino effect and just start thinking PEACE. Thoughts are infectious. Send it out. The message will circulate faster than you think.

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER will be illuminated on Viðey Island on Sunday 9th October 2022. The TOWER will be lit soon after 8pm in Reykjavík, ie:

8pm Reykjavík

9pm London/Liverpool

4pm New York

1pm Los Angeles

5am Tokyo

Yoko Ono invites everyone to travel to Viðey Island on the Elding ferry, free of charge. The first ferry will leave Skarfabakki at 18:00pm and it will sail back and forth until 7:30pm. After the ceremony, the first ferry will leave at 8:30pm from Viðey until the island has been evacuated. Ferry rides after the 9th of October are scheduled by Elding. ATTENTION – WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY ACCORDING TO WEATHER.

The installation of the Imagine Peace Tower is a collaboration of Yoko Ono, Reykjavík City, Reykjavík Art Museum, Reykjavík City Museum and Reykjavík Energy.
