The Museum Berggruen is on world tour: The exhibition tour brings important masterpieces by Picasso, Matisse, Cézanne and Klee to Japan, China and Paris. The building closed for major renovations from 5 September 2022; reopening is scheduled for 2025.
Five Venues
- 8 October 2022 – 22 January 2023: The National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo
- 4 February – 21 May 2023: The National Museum of Art, Osaka
- 22 June – 8 October 2023: UCCA Edge Shanghai
- 11 November 2023 – 25 February 2024: UCCA Beijing
- Fall 2024: Musée de l’Orangerie Paris
Renovation
The “Stülerbau West”, the Museum Berggruen’s historic preservation building on the street side, is to be completely renovated beginning in fall 2022.
The museum’s reopening is planned for 2025.

Modern Time: Collection of Museum Berggruen / Nationalgalerie Berlin” at UCCA Edge
In collaboration with Museum Berggruen and the Nationalgalerie Berlin, UCCA Edge in Shanghai presented "Modern Time: Masterpieces from the Collection of Museum Berggruen / Nationalgalerie Berlin" an exhibition tracing the evolution of European modern art in the 20th century through 100 major works by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti, Paul Cézanne, and Georges Braque.
Shown in China for the first time, these works by the six artists span painting, sculpture, paper cut-outs, and other media, allowing viewers to experience the development of modern art through styles such as Cubism, Surrealism, and various strands of abstraction.
