The Parisian born patron tells why he decided to focus on Venice and sterling Ruby's installation. 

Philanthropist Nicolas Berggruen, the new patron of the Venetian cultural scene, describes the city as a place of dialogue and connections in the name of art. With the promise of transforming Palazzo Diedo – a historic building purchased by the Nicolas Berggruen Charitable Trust – into a space dedicated to contemporary creativity. The first artist in residence is the American Sterling Ruby, author of a multi-year installation that debuted on April 20, 2022.
