About the artist



Halida Boughriet, is a French and Algerian artist. 


A graduate from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris

and the Exchange Program of the SVA New York in cinematography, 

Main fields of her art  are photography, video and installation.


The omnipresence of human bodies is an essential aspect of her poetical/experimental work.


Some of her pieces are now to be found in the collection Nouveau Media of the Centre Pompidouand at the MAC/VAL Museum (Musée d’Art contemporain du Val de Marne) in France.


Her works were also shown in several exhibitions, including Elles @centrepompidou,the FIAC in Algiers in 2011, or the art show Le corps découvert held at the IMA in 2012. 


In 2013, Halida also performed with her installation “Chapelle video #4” at the Art and History museum in Saint-Denis.


More recently she was part of the event “Video et Après” back at the Centre Pompidou, and of the International Biennale de Dak’art in Senegal. 


In 2015, she’s been represented at the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid.


In 2021, his series Memory in Oblivion dating from 2010 was presented during the exhibition  dedicated to Picasso & The Women of Algiers at the Berggruen Museum in Berlin.

She won the first LVMH Young Designer Prize with her photograph Waiting for the Verdict in 2005.
